The Bloomington Quilt Guild Challenge for 2011-2012 supported the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative. We are continuing this effort throughout the 2012-2013 club year. You can learn more about the AAQI Challenge here. At the AAQI website, you will find the rules for quilt donations, plus information on hangers, binding, and the Quilt Goddess Registration Form that you will need to fill out and include with each quilt submitted.
Lisa Dodson is our Quilt Registration Goddess, which means she will collect the quilts, add the registration number and mail the quilts to the AAQI. Please, only use the Quilt Goddess Registration Form if you want to have your quilt registered and mailed to AAQI.
Once the quilts are received, they will photographed, assigned a sales price and posted within the AAQI website with our very own Bloomington Quilt Guild Challenge web page.
We are excited about this challenge for many reasons. If you an art quilter, hand quilter, love to appliqué, traditional quilter, non-traditional quilter, or just want to try something outside your comfort zone, this challenge is for you.
Maximum quilt size is 9x12 inches, which makes it quick and easy to participate.
I am passionate about this challenge because everyone will have a loved one or someone they know touched by this devastating disease in their lifetime. Also, one hundred percent of the money raised by the AAQI goes to Alzheimer’s research.
Have fun. We can’t wait to see your creations.
