Guild Challenge Quilt: Sampler

Quilt by: M.L. Toensfeldt. This quilt is one of those displayed at the National Quilt Museum in September, made as part of a block of the month program.

Each year, members are invited to participate in a BQG Quilt Challenge. Every year a new theme is presented for the challenge. Karen Levay issued this year’s quilt challenge at the October 2023 meeting: Sampler

Let’s have some fun with different blocks! Include at least 6 different blocks in your project. Your quilt can be any size, any color. It can be a piece of clothing or a bag! Get inspired to try something new. We can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

Here are the guidelines:

  • You can use any technique or theme.

  • Your entry can be any size.

  • No sleeve is required, but they must be quilted and bound for final presentation.

  • The projects must have been completed between October 2023 and June 2024.

  • The piece doesn’t need to be a traditional quilt: it can be a purse, article of clothing, etc.

  • Entries will be voted on at the June 2024 meeting.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact Karen Levay at challenge@bloomingtonquiltersguild.org
